Amarillo, TX - 4/14
Where Route 66 meets 6th Avenue in Amarillo there is a growing little Arts district. It's easy to think there could be a really great unknown band (or ten) hiding in a basement in this neighborhood.

Dallas, TX - 4/15
I need to spend more time in Dallas.
I need to spend more time everywhere.
The show was fun but all things music were overshadowed by our trip to the 6th Floor Museum and The Grassy Knoll.
The museum is great and full of bullshit too. Worth the $13.50
A nice and mellow evening in Dallas with my new friend, Carrie.
This is the view from the Belmont Hotel.
Hot Springs, AR - 4/17
Hot Springs is like a little piece of a big city without the rest.
Major League baseball teams used to practice there.
Al Capone used to go there to relax.
It has that feeling.
Shreveport, LA - 4/18
Leadbelly is buried nearby.
Cheeseburgers are on the menu but are frowned upon.
We played for maybe ten people.
It was great.
The bartender won $200 playing video poker.
That was great too.
Vicksburg, MS
Woke up in Vicksburg...next to the Mississippi River...next to a Civil War cannon...on a hill...
next to a highway...next to a Waffle House...
Hattiesburg, MS - 4/19
Hattiesburg is doing what lots of cities and towns in America are starting to do again.
It has something to do with having neighbors that you talk to.
And listen to.
We shared a show with Cary Hudson.
Afterwards I went to a dance party and listened to some Dubstep.
Then some late night people watching with my new pal, Heidi.
She is the Mayor of Hattiesburg.
Says me.
Ocean Springs, MS - 4/20
Probably very few people have a clear picture of Ocean Springs.
It's a drinking town.
We played with Rooster Blues and Quimby Mountain Band, who played "Ophelia" for Levon Helm.
Hattiesburg, MS - 4/21
Back in Hattiesburg for two shows on Record Store Day.
Met Joan of Arc in an antique shop.
Joe introduced me to his friend, Squirrel...
...the story gets illegal from that point...
Played what is possibly the dive bar of all dive bars and loved it.
Scott Chism played too and did his own Levon Helm tribute.
Meridian, MS - 4/22
What did we do in Meridian?
Oh, yeah.
Rufus added some hambone to "War Pigs."
We had a sing along to Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train."
We hung out at the Speak-Real-Easy.
Went to the Jimmie Rodgers Museum.
Played a show too.
Birmingham, AL - 4/23
In Birmingham we played a show with our friends, Peasants!
Went to the amazing Charlemagne Records.
Visited the The Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and the beautiful Kelly Ingram Park.
Powerful places.
This fountain in Five Points has some obvious Occult shit going on.
Nashville, TN - 4/24, 25
Nashville is overwhelming.
I could spend quite a bit of time sitting in Robert's Western World...
...learning about Country Music.
Joe hunted down a record that has a song about his Grandpa on it.
He also recorded a song and played on the stage at the Ryman Auditorium.
I went to see Deertick.
I bought a guitar for my two day old nephew.
In a city full of sites, Joe's favorite place was the hotel bar.
Here is a cowboy at a hot dog stand.
Columbia, MO - 4/26
Last show of tour.
I caught another show before ours.
Sunshine Mamas.
Columbia has a very healthy music scene.
We drove all night after the show.
Colorado
